Our List of the Hottest Destinations Open to U.S. Tourists Right Now

If you’ve been dreaming of the day when you will once again stroll along a pink coral beach as you and your partner admire the sunset over a turquoise sea, you aren’t alone! You may also be surprised to find out that you don’t have to wait any longer to book that dream vacation! The list of travel destinations open to U.S. tourists has been growing, and we would bet there is a location available to please everyone from luxury travelers to adventure seekers to honeymooners who have been patiently waiting to celebrate their vows.

Below is a list of our highest recommended travel destinations open to US passport holders right now, along with a brief description of the current entry requirements. This is not an exhaustive list, so if you have your heart set on a country not listed here, we invite you to contact us for more details.

Aruba

There is a good reason why Aruba has more repeat visitors than any other island in the Caribbean. It offers something for everyone: luxury resorts, nightlife, nature, and warm and friendly locals. The hospitality industry here is of the highest order. The U.S. dollar is accepted everywhere, and English is spoken universally. Aruba is great for travelers seeking romantic beach getaways and near-perfect weather.

Currently, their entry requirements include proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (real-time polymerase chain reaction) test result, proof of traveler’s insurance, and completion of an Embarkation and Disembarkation card (ED-card). Depending on your state of residence, you will need to either have your test result available prior to your departure or pay $75 to have a test taken at the airport and then quarantine at your resort until the test result comes back. Please note the state in which you reside when you schedule your consultation with us for the latest details.

The Bahamas

Made up of 700 islands—some busy and bustling, some isolated and inhabited by no one but hermit crabs and seagulls—the Bahamas offers an alluring mix of land and sea activities. From Nassau to Eleuthera, explore golf trips on a seaside fairway, dive dramatic wrecks and reefs, and sail in crystal clear water. Accommodations run the gamut from simple inns to sophisticated retreats, from practical fishing lodges to the best honeymoon spots.

As of now, tourists must have a Bahamas Health Visa, proof of a negative test taken within five days of arrival, quarantine upon arrival for 14 days, and then take another test. Once your second test comes back negative, your quarantine period ends. The quarantine mandate is expected to be removed on November 1, 2020.

Barbados

Barbados is the most "British" island in the Caribbean. Afternoon tea is a ritual, and cricket is the national sport. The atmosphere, though, is hardly stuffy. This is still the Caribbean, after all. Beaches along the island's south and west coasts are picture-perfect, and all are available to cruise passengers. On the rugged east coast, the Atlantic Ocean attracts world-class surfers. A stalactite-studded cave, a wildlife preserve, rum distilleries, and tropical gardens are among the island's attractions.

Currently, their entry requirements include proof of a negative test taken within 72 hours of arrival and completion of an online immigration and customs form. Health screenings will be performed upon arrival at the airport and you must quarantine at your pre-approved resort or hotel for a few days until receiving two negative test results.

Bermuda

Tranquil and prosperous, this island nation of pastel houses and manicured gardens also displays a deep British heritage with crisp colonial architecture. A comfortable climate provides year-round opportunities for outdoor recreation on pink sand beaches, at championship golf courses, and in cerulean waters. Add excellent, varied shopping and romantic dining options, and it’s easy to see why this small-in-size country looms large on many itineraries.

Currently, Bermuda requires completion of an online travel authorization form within 48 hours of arrival and proof of a negative test preferably within 72 hours (no more than seven days) before arrival. Mandatory tests are also administered at the airport upon arrival, and on days three, seven, and 14 of your stay. You should plan to quarantine at your resort while awaiting your test results and bring a thermometer with you as you must record your temperature twice per day using an online form for the first 14 days of your visit. Dominican Republic

The vibrant lifestyle of this sun-drenched Latin-Caribbean country, where Spanish is the national language makes the Dominican Republic a different cultural experience. A land of contrasts, the Dominican Republic has mountain landscapes, 1,000 miles of gorgeous beaches studded with coconut palms, brown rivers with white-water rapids, rain forests full of wild orchids, making it the perfect destination for both anniversary trips and adventure trips.

Upon your arrival to the Dominican Republic, authorities will randomly administer quick breath tests at the airport to between 3% to 10% of passengers.

Hawaii

Who says you need to travel internationally to experience dazzling tropical beauty? Hawaii is a group of volcanic islands with gorgeous beaches, perfect weather, stunning sunsets...in other words, it is tropical perfection. Take all the worry out of planning by placing your trust in a Certified Hawaiian Vacation Specialist. We are professionally trained in the sights and delights of all things Hawaii. Hawaii has had a strict 14-day quarantine in effect for all visitors, which has succeeded in keeping their COVID-19 rate quite low. However, as of October 15, 2020, visitors can now bypass the quarantine with a little planning ahead. To bypass Hawaii’s quarantine, visitors must provide written confirmation prior to traveling from a state-approved testing facility. This confirmation must show a negative test result from a test administered within 72 hours of the traveler’s final leg of departure. You will also provide proof of this test again upon arrival and complete the State Department of Agriculture paper form that is distributed on all flights.

Jamaica

Jamaica is rich in beauty. Whether the topic is track and field or politics, the spirit of the island comes out in every interaction. Although the country is well known for its tropical beauty, reggae music, and cuisine, you may find that your interactions with local residents are what you truly remember.

Within five days of travel, each passenger is required to apply for a Travel Authorization document online. After answering a few simple questions, you will receive your authorization within a few minutes. Proof of this travel authorization, along with proof of a negative test taken within 10 days, must be presented to the airline representative in order to check-in for your flight.

Mexico

The beaches of Cancun, one of the best golf destinations, Los Cabos, the nightlife of Puerto Vallarta: Mexico offers enough seaside fun, splashy resorts, and piña coladas to fulfill anyone's sunny dreams. Travelers who dig a bit deeper will discover a multifaceted country of ethereal cloud forests, colorful coral reefs, and ancient archaeological sites.

As of now, U.S. visitors can arrive by plane. You can anticipate temperature checks and other health screenings to be taken at random at the airport. Tourists will be expected to quarantine voluntarily should they present COVID-19 symptoms. Schedule a consultation with us today and let’s plan your dream getaway to Mexico.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a tropical island boasting world-class museums, a lively nightlife, elegant restaurants, and of course, over 270 miles of coastline. Puerto Rico’s beautiful beaches are perfect for surfing adventures or soaking up the Caribbean sun in solitude. The island is a snorkeler’s paradise, with stunning coral reefs, sea turtles, and colorful fish to admire.

Currently, their entry requirements include proof of a negative test taken within 72 hours of arrival and completion of an online travel declaration form.
