One of the most significant events in Bermuda is Bermuda Heroes Weekend which happens the weekend leading up to National Heroes Day. In 2021, National Heroes Weekend will be held June 18th-21st. This festival-like event is to celebrate individuals who contributed to the territory’s welfare in some way. Over the weekend, there is a huge carnival-style celebration. This carnival includes food, music, parades, and boat rides. This celebration is a wonderful time to see captivating Bermuda at its most traditional and immerse yourself in the local culture!
Big game fishing events don’t get much bigger than the Bermuda Triple Crown Billfish Championship in July. Sport-fishers from all over the world come to Bermuda in hopes of catching record size blue and white marlin. Those who compete in the Bermuda Billfish Blast (July 3rd-7th), Bermuda Big Game Classic (July 9th-13th), or Sea Horse Anglers Club Billfish Tournament (July 19th-23rd) are eligible for the Bermuda Triple Crown (BTC) Billfish Championship 2021.
In August, you can catch up on some sports with the Cricket Cup Match, the highly competitive match is held between two rivals, St. George’s and Somerset; at this 2-day event you’ll also be able to enjoy more than cricket. Attendees also get to enjoy camping, boating, and swimming.Â
Coming up in September is the always entertaining Sandcastle Competition! You can celebrate the end of summer by entering your greatest sand creations in this contest. There are multiple competition categories as well as prizes!
More sports will be coming your way in October with the PGA Golf Tour. This 2-day, 36-hole, golfing showdown is a must-see for any golfing fan. The winner of this event receives prize money and earns a Masters Tournament invitation.
In December, you can celebrate Christmas in Bermuda! There are several local events including the National Trust Christmas Walkabout. This event tours you around one of the first established towns in the New World while it’s decorated for the holidays! See some beautiful Christmas displays while enjoying historic Bermuda.
